Our Hero Program
Kart to Car
Driver Program
For drivers ready to level up from karts to full-size race cars. We provide a real, all-inclusive arrive-and-drive experience plus a structured development system so you can progress faster, safer, and more professionally.
What is Spec Miata?
The gold standard for grassroots racing in America.
Spec Miata is widely considered the most popular road-racing class in North America — and for good reason. The class is built around the Mazda MX-5 Miata (1990-2005), prepared to a tightly controlled rulebook that keeps every car remarkably close in performance. The philosophy is simple: take an affordable, reliable, production sports car, limit modifications, and let driver skill — not checkbook depth — decide the winner.
Both major U.S. sanctioning bodies, SCCA and NASA, run Spec Miata as a flagship class, with thousands of licensed competitors nationwide and fields that routinely top 30-40 cars at regional events and national championships.
For young drivers stepping out of karts, it's an ideal next rung. The cars are light, forgiving, and fitted with full roll cages, racing harnesses, and fire systems. Budgets are a fraction of formula or GT classes, parts are everywhere, and the deep fields mean every race weekend is a master class in wheel-to-wheel craft. Few environments develop a complete driver faster.

Driver Spotlight
The Kart to Car path, in the words of a driver living it.
Jett and Jesse do truly amazing work. Through their mentorship and hard work, I was able to enjoy my first season of road racing while learning a lot and having fun. With their cars and mentorship, I went from a back marker in Quarter Midgets to a front runner. As they step into the Spec Miata class for both major organizations, I highly recommend working with LeadFoot Racing.
2026 Season
P4 Finish
Liam Koenig closed out the opening race weekend of the 2026 season with a 4th place finish — the latest step in a path that started in Quarter Midgets.
More results as the season unfolds.
For Parents
What you need to know about putting your child in our program.
We understand — putting your child in a race car is a big decision. Here's what we want you to know: safety is our top priority. Every driver wears full safety gear (helmet, suit, gloves, shoes) and our cars are built and maintained to NASA specifications with full roll cages, racing harnesses, and fire suppression systems.
Our coaching approach focuses on building skills gradually. No one gets thrown into the deep end. Drivers progress at their own pace with data-driven feedback after every session. We also provide nutrition, workout, and sim training plans so your child develops as a complete athlete.
The scholarship program means that financial barriers don't have to end the conversation. Learn more about the scholarship.
