K1 Race Gear was founded by the same team behind K1 Speed, the largest indoor karting chain in the United States. The original problem they were solving: safety gear was either professional-grade and expensive, or affordable and unsafe. Their racers — kids, beginners, and weekend warriors — needed a third option.
